Shadow detail

Shadow detail refers to the amount of information in the darkest parts of an image. When photographing a scene with deep shadows, it is important to preserve detail in those areas to prevent them from appearing too dark or underexposed. In post-processing, shadow detail can often be recovered by adjusting the exposure or using techniques such as HDR.
